We are a group of passionate midwives who pride ourselves in giving full care to our women and whanau throughout their pregnancy journey and first six weeks of the new wonderful stage in life after your baby is born.

Each pregnancy and birth comes as a unique experience, and whether it is your first time or you are an experienced mother already, we would love to share your journey with you.

No matter where you live in our beautiful South Canterbury we are able to provide you with midwifery care. We cover to the Rangitata river in the north and the Waitaki river to the south, and west (inland) to Mt Cook.

To ensure we provide you with the best possible care, we keep the number of women we provide care to (our caseload) to 4-5 women per month.

We all have two rostered days off each week, and to ensure there is always backup support for you as we work in teams.

For urgent midwifery matters that requires an immediate response, then you must phone your midwife; do NOT text her.

Use of text is for non-urgent matters such as making or changing appointments, or a question that is good to have an answer for but it is not critical.

Please keep non-urgent texts to between 8am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.

Who we work with

We have excellent working relationships with the Timaru Hospital maternity unit (Jean Todd). We will refer you as necessary to our obstetric team.

With your consent, we can refer you to hospital dieticians, physiotherapists, social workers, stop smoking programmes, breastfeeding advisors (lactation consultants).

We provide women with urgent midwifery care 24 hours, 7 days per week.

If you are unsure about what things are urgent and what are not, please talk to us at your next visit.
